This beautiful Period home in Camberwell was starting to show its age internally to the front of the house. Although the back portion of the home had been renovated sometime beforehand and completed with a fresh, modern edge, the entry and front bedrooms were showing signs of age with cracked plaster throughout and movement to its core.
Arcform was engaged to reinstate the front 3 rooms of the house along with the period-style entrance. This involved the complete internal strip back of all wall and ceiling linings.
The Clients wanted to keep the front portion of the house both internally and externally as original as possible which had it’s challenges. But once the internal linings were bare, we were able to straighten all walls and ceilings, move doorways where required to allow for new Built-in Robes, add insulation to the new areas as well as re-wire the electrical ensuring safety moving forward.
The renovation included installing some enormous period cornices and ceiling roses and sourcing the large skirting and architraves to ensure it maintained it’s original and timeless look.
It was a pleasure to work with the Clients on this job and it gave us another opportunity to work on another one of Melbourne’s great, timeless little gems.
